Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Kevin Peterson

Coach Kevin Peterson has been playing tennis for 54 years. He played tennis in high school and college, and continued to play USTA tournaments - singles, doubles and mixed doubles until 3 years ago when his back surgery ended his competitive career. He has coached high school girls tennis for 23 years. He has been head coach at Assumption High School (1997 - 1999), Davenport Central High School (2004 - 2019) and Alleman High School (2010 - 2014). He was assistant coach at Moline High School (2006) and assistant coach at Pleasant Valley High School from 2000 thru 2003.

Assistant Coach: Melissa Clemons

Coach Melissa Clemons played collegiate tennis at the University of Northern Iowa in the late 80's. She walked on and become their #1 player as a freshman. The highlight of her career was meeting professional tennis player Ken Flach (#1 doubles tennis player at the time) at the St. Louis Invitational.

Coach Clemons played high school tennis for Bettendorf High School and earned varsity letters her sophomore, junior and senior years. Bettendorf dominated the MAC during her high school years winning the conference 3 years and runner up once.

Coach Clemons was a dual-sport athlete competing on Bettendorf's gymnastics team during her high school years and lettered all four years. She was an Athlete of the Year Finalist her senior year.

Coach Clemons is very excited to assist the PVHS girls tennis team to a successful season.
